ETCHlo Privacy Policy

ETCHlo is a creative drawing and image-transformation app. You can draw on your device, import a photo you select as a canvas background, use drawing tools, save drafts, try Daily Challenge ideas, and choose whether to transform your work using an AI image service.

This Privacy Policy explains what information ETCHlo may collect or process, how it is used, when it may be shared, how long it may be kept, and how you can contact us about privacy, account, wallet, or data deletion requests.

Important note about imported photos and AI generation

ETCHlo only accesses a device photo after you explicitly select it with the Android system photo picker. Selecting a photo does not upload it. The app prepares a resized local copy and keeps it with your associated drafts on your device.

If you choose to start an AI transformation, ETCHlo sends a flattened image containing the visible photo and drawing layers, together with your selected style and any optional instructions, to ETCHlo's servers and AI service provider so the result can be created.

Imported photos may contain faces, locations, documents, or other personal or sensitive details. Only submit photographs you have the right and permission to use, and do not include sensitive personal information that is not needed for your creative request.

1) Information we collect or process

Drawings, imported photos, and drafts stored on your device

Drawing layers, undo history, canvas settings, autosaves, and drafts you create in ETCHlo.
Photos you explicitly select through the system photo picker. ETCHlo does not request broad access to your photo library for this feature.
Resized or re-encoded local copies of selected photos and temporary local composites needed to restore drafts or recover an interrupted morph request.

This content remains on your device unless you choose to submit an AI transformation, submit an in-app content report, save or share an image, or otherwise send it outside the app.

AI transformation inputs and results

The flattened image you choose to submit for AI generation, including an imported photo when one is present and any drawing placed over it.
Style choices, optional prompt notes, and generation or quality options you select.
Generated image results returned to the app.
Generation request identifiers, tier and model information, processing status, timestamps, and limited integrity information such as image hashes used for delivery recovery, safety, support, and duplicate-transaction prevention.

Optional in-app content reports

If you deliberately select Report image for an AI-generated result, ETCHlo may collect and retain a private moderation evidence bundle that includes:

The flattened input image and the AI-generated result you reported.
Your selected report reason and any optional report comment.
Your selected style and optional generation instructions.
The generation request identifier, model and tier metadata, ETCHlo wallet and support identifiers, timestamps, evidence status, and report review status.

Wallet, session, token, and purchase information

A random installation credential and related session credential used to create and secure a guest wallet without requiring Google sign-in.
ETCHlo wallet IDs, support IDs, token balances, entitlements, and token transaction records.
Google Play Billing information needed to verify purchases, prevent duplicate crediting, and add purchased HD tokens, such as product, purchase-token, transaction, and order information.
Rewarded-ad challenge, transaction, entitlement, and completion information used to verify and grant Ad Tokens or Mini morph access.

Optional Google sign-in information

If you choose Google sign-in, ETCHlo receives a verified Google account identifier and may receive your email address from Google for sign-in and account display purposes.
ETCHlo uses the verified account identifier to associate you with an account-linked wallet and help keep eligible wallet balances available across devices.

Advertising-related information

ETCHlo uses rewarded ads and related Google advertising services. These services may process advertising identifiers, device information, approximate location, ad views, ad interactions, consent choices, and diagnostic information according to their own policies and your device settings.
ETCHlo uses related information to show rewarded ads, verify rewards, prevent abuse, and keep the ad-supported feature working properly.

Technical and support information

Basic service and security information such as IP address, request time, app or protocol version, device or browser information, rate-limit activity, and error or diagnostic details.
Crash, performance, reliability, or troubleshooting information.
Emails or messages you send to support, including your email address, ETCHlo Support ID, and the contents of your request.

2) How we use information

To provide drawing, photo import, drafts, Daily Challenge, saving, sharing, and store features.
To process AI transformation requests and return generated image results.
To preserve and recover a completed morph if delivery is temporarily interrupted.
To manage ETCHlo sessions, wallet IDs, Ad Tokens, HD Tokens, entitlements, and transaction records.
To verify Google Play purchases and rewarded-ad completions and prevent fraud or duplicate rewards.
To provide optional account-linked wallet access through Google sign-in.
To investigate AI-generated images that users deliberately report through the app.
To enforce safety rules and improve content filtering, reliability, security, and performance.
To respond to support, privacy, account deletion, and troubleshooting requests.
To comply with legal, platform, security, or policy requirements.

3) When information is shared

ETCHlo does not sell your personal information. ETCHlo may disclose information to service providers only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the app and related services.

Information may be processed by or disclosed to:

Hosting, database, and private-storage providers used to operate ETCHlo's backend services.
OpenAI or another AI image service provider used by ETCHlo to process submitted images and instructions and create transformed results.
Google services used for optional Google sign-in, Google Play Billing, rewarded advertising, reward verification, and related fraud prevention.
Support, security, diagnostics, and infrastructure providers.
Authorities, professional advisers, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, investigate fraud or security issues, enforce rights, or protect users and others.

If you use your device's share sheet, save an image, or send an image to another app or person, that sharing is initiated by you and is also governed by the receiving app or service.

4) AI-generated content and safety

ETCHlo is designed for creative, family-friendly image transformations. ETCHlo may use local prompt checks, provider safety systems, content filtering, rate limits, and abuse-prevention tools to reduce harmful, illegal, sexual, hateful, harassing, graphically violent, deceptive, or otherwise inappropriate requests and results.

AI-generated results may be inaccurate, unexpected, or different from the submitted image. A transformation involving a real person may alter that person's appearance, expression, clothing, surroundings, or other features. Do not use ETCHlo to impersonate, harass, exploit, or violate the privacy or rights of another person.

You can report an inappropriate AI-generated result directly in the app by opening the result and selecting Report image. You may also contact support@etchlo.com about privacy, safety, or other concerns.

5) Children and target audience

ETCHlo is not intended for children under 13. Users under the age of majority should use ETCHlo only with permission and supervision from a parent or guardian.

Do not submit drawings, photos, notes, prompts, reports, or support requests that contain sensitive personal information about children or other people. Do not submit intimate, exploitative, or otherwise inappropriate images of a minor.

6) Data retention

On-device drawings, photos, and drafts

Drawings, imported-photo copies, undo history, and drafts may remain in ETCHlo's local app storage. Removing a photo or deleting drafts that reference it allows ETCHlo to remove the local photo copy when it is no longer needed. Clearing ETCHlo's app data or uninstalling the app also removes local app storage, subject to your device's backup and restore settings.

Ordinary AI transformations and recovery

ETCHlo does not routinely retain the submitted input image after the ordinary generation request is processed. To protect against a temporary connection interruption, ETCHlo stores a completed result privately until delivery is acknowledged or the recovery period expires. The recovery period is currently configured for up to six hours. Limited generation metadata, transaction records, integrity hashes, and safety or failure status may be retained longer when needed for wallet accounting, duplicate prevention, support, fraud prevention, security, and service reliability.

In-app content reports

If you deliberately submit Report image, the input and output evidence images are normally deleted 30 days after the report is submitted. The evidence is stored privately and is available only through authorized moderation tools. Limited report metadata may be retained after the images are deleted when reasonably needed to document the report and its resolution, enforce safety rules, prevent abuse, or meet legal or platform obligations.

Other records

Wallet, purchase, token-ledger, advertising-reward, security, fraud-prevention, support, and legal records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required or permitted by law. Service providers may also retain information according to their applicable agreements, legal obligations, and privacy policies.

7) Account and data deletion

ETCHlo users may request deletion of ETCHlo-controlled wallet or account data. Visit our Account & Data Deletion page for instructions.

To help us locate the correct record, include your ETCHlo Wallet ID or Support ID if available. If you used optional Google sign-in, include the Google email address associated with your ETCHlo wallet.

When a deletion request is completed, ETCHlo will delete or anonymize applicable account or wallet records controlled by ETCHlo, subject to records that must be retained for purchases, accounting, fraud prevention, security, safety reports, disputes, legal obligations, or enforcement purposes. ETCHlo does not control records managed directly by Google Play, such as payment history or purchase receipts.

Server-side deletion cannot remove drawings, imported photos, or drafts that remain only on your device. You can remove that local content in the app where available, clear ETCHlo's app data in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Device or cloud backups may be controlled separately by you and your device or backup provider.

8) Security

ETCHlo uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including authenticated app sessions, server-side purchase and reward verification, access controls, private evidence storage, limited retention, and encrypted transport using HTTPS or similar technology.

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so ETCHlo cannot guarantee absolute security.

9) Your choices

You can use basic drawing features without Google sign-in.
You choose which individual photo, if any, to import through the system photo picker.
You can replace or remove an imported photo while keeping your drawing layer where practical.
You choose whether to submit a drawing or photo composite for AI transformation.
You choose whether to submit an in-app report about a generated image.
You choose whether to watch rewarded ads.
You choose whether to buy optional HD Tokens through Google Play Billing.
You can contact support with privacy questions or request deletion of eligible ETCHlo-controlled data.

10) Changes to this policy

ETCHlo may update this Privacy Policy as the app, providers, legal requirements, or data practices change. When the policy is updated, the effective date above will be revised. Material changes may also be communicated through the app, website, or another appropriate method.
